 Dr. Thea Cooper Barton

Dr. Thea Cooper Barton is a Board Certified gynecologist who has been practicing since 2003. Dr. Barton was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania and graduated from Westtown School. From there, she attended the University of Virginia and received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. In 1999, Dr. Barton began her journey in medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, Pennsylvania. For the past fifteen years, Dr. Barton has been connecting with women, not only on a professional basis but also on a personal level, as she is both wife and mother. She can relate to the current demands of a woman and understands the effects that can have on, not only the physical state, but the mental state as well. Dr. Barton focuses on the ‘whole patient’ approach to assess symptoms and to identify the cause of and/or contributing factors in regards to a woman’s gynecologic issue(s).

 

Not only is she an expert on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) but she also specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery to cure common conditions such as fibroids and endometriosis. Dr. Barton has a special passion for treating the adolescent population. She believes that healthy gynecologic lifestyles can be nurtured during the teenage years and fostered into adulthood.

 

 

Currently, Dr. Barton is the owner of Progressive Gynecology in East Norriton, Pennsylvania. She has been married for 20 years and has two teenage daughters. When not focusing on her thriving practice, Dr. Barton enjoys hanging out with her bullmastiff (Gus), traveling, and entertaining with family and friends.
