A native of Monks Corner, South Carolina, Katina M. Richmond, PharmD, was born the oldest of three children to Joel and Jacqueline Richmond. She graduated from Berkeley High School and went on to receive a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Emory University before attending a master’s program at Emory University's School of Public Health. She later earned a doctorate in pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Katina has held various positions over her more than 16-year career with Walgreens, ranging from staff pharmacist, pharmacy manager, Emerging Leader, clinical pharmacist and is currently a Registered Manager of General Operations (RMGO) for a Walgreen’s Speciality Pharmacy in Georgia. She oversees all operations of the pharmacy and front end of the store, including sales, staff, stock and, most importantly, investigating financial assistance for patients’ pharmaceutical needs. As one of only a handful of Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) pharmacies in the state, the standards are high and two aspects of her job that Katina loves most are mentoring staff and helping patients get the medications they need.

Katina enjoys leading community health and education events and has done so for more than 15 years. Her specific areas of interest are hypertension, oncology, diabetes, children's health, and women's health. She often presents at churches for vacation bible schools and educational weeks; youth groups such as YMCA’s; career days at primary schools and colleges; and a variety of community events. Additionally, Katina visits health fairs providing blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol screenings, as well as vaccination clinics.

Currently, Katina lives in Loganville, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. She serves as a consulting pharmacist for both Student Health Services and the Athletic Department at Coastal Carolina University and a chiropractic office in South Carolina. She is a board member of The C.A.S.T. Coalition and CareTeam and a faithful member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
